The starting strength is not a fixed number: it is solved on your own source so that the centre of the frame keeps its original proportions (on a 1080p source that lands at 62.6). Compression grows towards the edges, where the eye reads it as perspective rather than distortion. If it still looks like too much, lower the slider: you lose a little of the scene at the sides, never the centre.
At the edges more than fifty source columns are squeezed into one output column: a single bilinear tap would look at one of them and throw the rest away, and that is what shreds thin lines. The renderer takes an exact average over the whole footprint of every compressed pixel and a bicubic sample in the magnified centre, cross-fading between the two. If an element still ends up too narrow, you bring it back to full size as a UI region.
No, and it is not on the roadmap. No outpainting, no generated backgrounds, no automatic reframing that picks the shot for you. Every pixel of the export comes from a pixel of your clip.
Yes. Beside the warp there is the classic crop, with zoom and pan, and fit with a blurred background. On a clip with nothing at the sides the crop is the better choice and the editor lets you make it.
They stay exactly as the source has them. The export is H.264 at 1080×1920, with colour declared as BT.709 so platforms do not have to guess — an untagged file read at the wrong range is the classic washed-out video.
No. Free and Pro exports come out of the same render, at the same 1080×1920. What changes is the watermark and the number of exports: 3 a day on Free, unlimited on Pro.
Yes, from the billing portal, at any time. Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for and then the account simply drops back to Free: your videos stay where they are.
